Getting Started for Kachinglers
Kachingling your favorite sites is easy
Now that you're a Kachingler, you'll notice the Kachingle Medallions on sites you visit now have purple coins, and they recognize you by your Display Name. When you encounter a Medallion on a site you want to support, simply mouse-over the Medallion to expand it, and click "Start kachingling [site name]."
The Medallion coin turns from purple to green, and you're now kachingleing the site! (You'll also notice the number of Kachinglers goes up by one -- that's you!) From now on, the Medallion on this site will recognize you and count your visits. (You can also track your support through your own Sites I Visit page.)
At the end of each month, your monthly deposit (called a "Pay-In") will be divvied up proportionally among those sites based on how many days you visited.
To see the Medallion in action and start your kachingling, visit some of our Top Sites. You can also browse through all the sites you can kachingle, by visiting the All Sites tab at the top of the page.
(FAQ: Why Daily Visits rather than total visits or pageviews?)
Sharing your kachingling is easy and fun
Through Kachingle, you can boost your online persona around your Kachingle contributions by sharing your Sites I Visit — and you can see who else kachingles your favorite sites, too. It's a wonderful way to promote sites you believe in and compare interests with others.
When you click "See who's kachingling this site" on any Medallion, you can see all that site's contributors, and click on their names to find out what other sites they support through Kachingle.
Tracking your kachingling is rewarding
When you log into Kachingle.com, you'll be taken to your Sites I Visit tab, where you can track and control your kachingling. Here's how it works:
[1] - Tabs
Sites I Visit (shown here) is where you can view your kachingling history and contributions, turn kachingling on and off for your the sites you support, and edit your settings for each site.
Sites I Own is where you can manage Medallions for your own web sites.
All Sites is where you can browse every site with a Kachingle Medallion or search for sites by keyword.
[2] - Public View/Private View
Public View shows what your kachingling history looks like to other Kachinglers, who might find your profile after clicking "See who's kachingling this site" in a Medallion on one of the sites you support. Public View does not show, for example, sites to which you contribute anonymously.
Private View shows additional options that other Kachinglers cannot see, as described in #6 below.
[3] - Sort options
Here you can choose how your kachingling history is listed on this page.
[4] - Profile
This box displays your profile information, and includes a link to Edit Settings, like your profile picture, Display Name, etc.
(You can also edit your profile from the Settings link at the top of any Kachingle page.)
[5] - Site logo and name
Click on the logo to be taken to the site itself.
Click on the name to be taken to a Kachingle page describing the site and listing all the Kachinglers that support it.
[6] - Kachingling options
Click the coin to start or stop contributing to this site. If the coin is gold, you're contributing. If it's gray, you're not. (Sites cannot be deleted, but the less you visit, the lower they will appear on the page when sorted by Last Visit.)
Click "Edit Preferences" to change whether your contributions to this site appear under your Display Name, an alternate name, or anonymously.
[7] - Kachingling statistics
This box shows your kachingling history for this site, including total visits, total contributions, and whether you're kachingling under your Display Name, an alternate name or anonymously.
